Southeastern Association of Catamaran Sailors
Who we are and what we are about
The SEACATS are a group of people in and around Columbia South Carolina who love sailing, biking, canoeing and kayaking, camping, and just plain having a good time. Founded in 1990ish by Tommy Whiteside and friends, we hold two major regattas each year. Twice a year we have an oyster roast at no charge to members, and we have multiple "Fun Sails" and road trips with the fleet. We also have an adventure club that plans biking, whitewater rafting/kayaking, and camping trips throughout the year.
All of our regatta proceeds along with private donations from the fleet go to local children's charities. We have donated thousands of dollars over the years to these very worthwhile cause.
Our mission is promote sailing in South Carolina while supporting our charities and having a good time all along the way. If you are interested in membership (25 dollars a year), email one of the leaders for more information.
